Embedded Software Engineer

Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in RIDC Park, Nidec Vamco (formerly Vamco International) is the global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-speed Material-Feeding systems. We specialize in machine design, machine manufacturing, control-systems design and process automation. Our proprietary motion-controllers, IO-subsystems, servo-drives and servo-motor designs make us automation experts in the metal-stamping industry.

We have an immediate need for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain machine control software, including real-time control of electric servo motors.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Responsibilities:

• Develop machine control programs in C .
• Design and program HMI projects in C#, utilizing Visual Studio.
• Testing and debugging.
• Interface with customers in the specification of new system features and enhancements.
• Support field service technicians in start-up of new equipment.

Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C .
• Microsoft C# experience a plus.
• Understanding of real-time operating systems and embedded systems concepts.
• EtherCAT and Beckhoff TwinCAT experience a plus.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
